Amberg Firemen’s Parade Grand Marshals

AMBERG – This year the Grand Marshals for the Firemen’s picnic/parade are Barb and Roger Anderson. Roger was born in Amberg on Dow Dam Rd. He attended and graduated from school. He was in the Air Force and was a jet mechanic. He served from 1956-1960, 33 months and 4 hours served in Europe. Roger met Barbara Koepp Anderson in June of 1960 on a blind date and has been married 63 years. Roger was a Town Supervisor and member of the Wausaukee Lions Club where he was a great community servant. Both worked at the Wausaukee Boat Factory for many years. On the Amberg rescue Squad until it dissolved, worked as volunteers for the Amberg Museum and were involved in getting the ball diamond started. Barb is a great cook and has made things for church suppers, bake sales and of course pies for the Firemen’s Picnic. They have three children who went to school in Amberg and Wausaukee, Sharon, Susie and Roger Jr., eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. They enjoy their family gatherings whenever they can get together.
