Albert "AL" Ernest Tillmann, 89, left this world on February 24th, 2026, with family by his side. He was born April 21,1936 to Otti and Earnst Tillmann. Al met, then married Rosalie Peters on May 14, 1960. They began their life together in Colorado where Al was stationed at Fitzsimons Army Hospital.
Al and Rosie moved back to northeastern Wisconsin where they raised children, trees, and plants. Al was a landscaper (Tillmann Landscape, Timberline Trees), a hunter, fisherman, skier, hiker, family man, and a lover and shaper of the land. He was a friendly, adventurous guy who worked hard and enjoyed time with family and friends, often traveling to ski, hunt, and seek some new land to explore. He knew his way through the woods and waterways.
Al will remain in our hearts forever. He is survived by his wife Rosie Tillmann, children; Kathy (Jim) Walczyk, Mike (Jessie) Tillmann, Barb Peckumn, Dave (Amy) Tillmann, Theresa (Kevin) Giebel, his grandchildren; Ben (Britt) Walczyk, Katelin (Matt) Hiller, Logan and Sage Tillmann, Solomon and Milly Costa, Rachel (Ryan) Helin, Dominique (Jake) Ramey, Taylor (Josh) Tuschl, Allison (Chris) Pokrzywa, Tony (Mason) Giebel, Grace Giebel, and great-grandchildren; Lyleigh and River Walczyk, Brooks Helin, Lake Tillmann, Alana Pokrzywa, baby Giebel on the way, and by his brother, Ron (Connie) Tillmann.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosie's parents, his sister, Edith Turner, and brothers-in-law, Gordie, Jerry, Ken, and Danny Peters.
A visitation will be held at 9 am and funeral at 11am, March 2nd, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 808 Henriette Ave, Crivitz, WI 54114.
Al suffered Alzheimer's in his final years. His loving wife, Rosie, cared for him at home until his final months when he needed more. We want to thank the kind and caring staff at Alpha Senior Living and Moments Hospice, who cared for him and helped us know how to let him go.
