Gillett Public Library Lists December Events

The holidays are just around the corner and Gillett Public Library has a variety of programs for December 2022. Saturday, Dec. 10th from 11 am-3 pm, there will be a cookie fundraiser called the “Cookie Crawl.” Boxes of cookies will be $5 and available for people to pick their own cookies. Bags will be available for $2 for those preferring smaller portions. Santa will make an appearance from 12-2 pm.
For Adults on Tuesday, Dec. 20th from 1-2:30 pm, the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) will host a Memory Café in the Gillett Library Community Center from 1-2:30 pm. Make a holiday ornament, decorate holiday cookies, play bingo, and listen to holiday songs provided by Joe and Colleen Wicker. Call Mary Jo at 715-526-4712 or Johanna at 715-526-4708 to RSVP by Friday, Dec. 16th. Oconto County Health and Human Services provides Job and GED Assistance from 10 am-12 pm.
Children’s programs include on Monday, Dec. 19, liven up your tree with a DIY Gingerbread House Ornament from 4:30-5:30 pm in the Gillett Library Community Center. Teen Tuesday on Tuesday, Dec. 20th from 4-5 pm will be DIY Ornaments. Come decorate your own ornament. Snacks will be provided.
During Winter Break, the Gillett Library has a variety of activities for families. On Monday, Dec. 26 from 12:30-1:30 pm, make treats for the Oconto County Humane Society. ON Tuesday, Dec. 27, the Library will kick off a new program called “Full STEAM Ahead.” Children K-2 will learn about shapes through reading and fun activities. On Wednesday, Dec. 28th from 1-3 pm, Pathfinder and Community Board Games will be held in the Library Community Center. On Thursday, Dec. 29 from 11-11:30 am, Ms. Annie will perform another puppet show. On Friday, Dec. 30, families can make DIY Bird Feeders for their feathered friends in frigid temperatures.
