Cletus Alsteen

Cletus Alsteen, 71, of Green Lake, Wi., formerly of Lena, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Born May 12, 1952 in Oconto Falls, to Leland and Viola (Rimple) Alsteen, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He then attended UWGB and after four years, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Putting his degree to good use, he worked in Natural Resources as a game warden for 21 years.

An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, but loved his dogs, garden, hasta plants, tending to his fruit trees and sharing his harvest with his neighbors. He was actively involved with the American Legion Post 306 of Green Lake.

He is survived by three sisters, Elaine Dorvinen of Green Bay, Yvonne (Donald) Brault of Peshtigo, Linda Jacobini of Hamilton, Va.; a brother, Milton (Kathy) Alsteen of Little Suamico; a brother-in-law, Alvin Strom of Oconto; his lady friend, Kathy Soberg of Green Lake; nieces, nephews; great-nephews and great-nieces, but especially nieces, Emma, Izzy and Olivia which he thought the world of and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Strom; a brother, Dean Alsteen and two brothers-in-law, Larry Dorvinen and David Jacobini.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post #306, 518 Water St., in Green Lake, Wi. on Sunday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with full Military Honors at 11:30 a.m. In his true fashion, casual attire is requested.
