Audit, Parade on Pound Village Board Agenda

The Village of Pound’s annual Community Lighted Christmas Parade is set to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at Ace Hardware. After winding through the village the parade will end at the Community Center where Santa and Mrs. Claus will be special guests at a free get-together for the entire community and visitors, with cookies, scones, hot chocolate, coffee, apple cider, chili, and cheese snacks, and prize winner presentations.
A recap of the parade and gathering are among items on the agenda for the monthly Village Board meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12.
Once again the agenda provides for a financial audit update with Joel Rennie from Johnson & Rennie Associates. During discussions at previous meetings Village President Terry Earley had reported that Joel Rennie, who has been village auditor for many years, had told him he was still working on the long-unfinished 2019 audit report for the village. The last audit completed was for 2018, and the board has hesitated to go forward with subsequent audits without a completed 2019 audit as a starting point.
Other items on the Dec. 12 Board agenda include financial reports, approval of bills for payment; reports by Scott Fuelle as Director of Public Works and Utilities Director; consideration of possible purchase of a salt/sander, and possible consideration of permits and/or license applications.
After completing other business the board will go into closed session to conduct employee performance  review and compensation, with follow-up action possible after the board returns to open session before adjourning.
The meeting agenda provides for public comments of up to 3 minutes per individual.  At a previous meeting the board had adopted a rule requiring anyone wishing to speak during time for public comment to register in advance with the clerk.
